Our Story

With over 35 years in the waste management industry, Bob Blom and his son, Chris Blom, with over 15 years of military service, seized on an opportunity to partner together and create a company that meets the needs of customers while provided personalized service that is second to none.  They founded a company that met a need for a wide industry and operate it with all the integrity, service and commitment that Veterans do.

VES focuses on a full spectrum of services from compliance and training to removal and disposal for healthcare operations and industrial generators of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, that do not have environmental or health and safety support staff in their own companies. VES has become a trusted provider of environmental waste solutions meeting all of our clients’ needs in Southeast United States. Headquartered in Alabama, VES is growing fast and will have nation-wide coverage.

VES provides many field services focusing on lab packing, consulting, Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) and healthcare compliance – including pharmaceutical return programs and destruction. Our goal is to provide options for our customer base to choose what is best suited for their needs.

MEET OUR TEAM

Bob Blom

Bob is a pioneer in the waste management industry with over 35 consecutive years of experience.   

Starting his career in Pre RCRA days, working through a tough regulatory climate of vast disposal abuse into today’s mature RCRA marketplace using regulations to govern generator choices and today promoting recycle and beneficial reuse technologies for minimizing disposal impact.  Bob began his training working at a hazardous waste incinerator hands on.  Moved into supervision and then management. Bob left as Facility Administrator moving in the RCRA  consulting and treatment arena. Bob arrived in Alabama at a TSDF start up developing the eastern USA sales team for alternate fuels which sold 12 years later.  After this company sale,  Bob started Environmental Alternatives a waste disposal service company and sold it many years later. Then was employed as a sales consultant to a TSDF and finally purchased that company in 2006, EWS Alabama begun – a full service national TSDF became operational. EWS Alabama sold in 2016  to another national concern.  Bob continued under new ownership as VP National Accounts and separated in 2018. Today Bob continues to consult and remain heavily involved in healthcare and industrial solutions for new  regulatory alternatives coming into our marketplace. RMW, Lab Packing, Disposal, Consulting and Field Service work is what VES offers and performs in the market.

    Chris Blom

    Chris Blom currently serves on active duty with the U.S. Army as Commissioned Officer with over 14 years of experience serving in multiple combat and training units over his career. He is experienced in project management, strategic planning, operations, and logistics management. He has deployed multiple times throughout the world, in support of combat operations and advising missions with foreign ally partners of the U.S. Army. Chris is one of the founding partners of VES and provides administrative and operational support to ensure customer needs are met.
